Got lemons? Make lemonade. Global warming melting your glaciers? Make beer.

A Greenland brewery is using water from the melting polar ice cap that covers 85% of the island to make beer. The brewers claim that the 2,000-year-old water is free of minerals and other pollutants, and that the beer has a softer, cleaner taste because of the water.

They’re only shipping to Denmark at present, but have had enquiries from Germany and the U.S., among others. The brewery, the first ever owned by the Inuit, has a capacity of 400,000 liters (about 2,935 bbl) and hopes to be in the German market in about six months.
