Getting back into homebrewing – The Final Chapter

It’s all gone. Well, except for a lone six-pack that we’re saving for some dear friends who are visiting us for New Year’s Eve.

Where did it all go? I mean, I haven’t brewed anything for six years. It was just an IPA kit from a mail-order brewing supply company. I didn’t think it was all that.

By the time I gave a beer or two to all of the people who were fascinated when I told them I was brewing my own, plus a six-pack to my host for Thanksgiving dinner, that put me down at least 12 bottles out of my 48. Then, of course, we figured on saving a little money by not buying beer, so it was the only thing in the house.

It turns out that my wife, not particularly daring in her beer adventures, really liked it. A lot. And she shared it with her friends.

And, well, it turns out that I liked it too.

So my two cases that I figured on lasting me well into January is just about gone. It is only by sheer force of will (and the purchase of some interesting beers) that it’s still around.

I was going to try something different for my next batch, hopefully from a local homebrew supply shop. But my beloved wife thinks I should make another one of these. Who am I to disappoint her?
