Real men of genius

I don’t listen to much commercial radio. I commute via rail and when I am in my car and the radio is on it’s almost always tuned to National Public Radio. However, I do occasionally listen to “other” radio stations and do hear commercials.

Rarely are any of them interesting enough to actually listen to. Most are boring. The worst are the ones where the voice-over guy is shouting in order to try to get your attention. It doesn’t work.

However, there are sometimes commercials that are darn funny. A case in point is Anheuser Busch’s Real Men of Genius and Real American Hero series for Bud Light. I mean, how can you not like an homage to Mr. Major Highway Line Painter or Mr. Hawaiian Shirt Pattern Designer?

DIIS.net offers a comprehensive collection of these radio spots. What’s your favorite?

By the way, as far as my favorite “Real Men of Genius” ad goes…that’s a tough call. I work in IT so I do like “Mr. Company Computer Guy” a lot…”Mr. Eggnog Inventor” is also great.
