The snow is almost all but disappeared in the northeast U.S. and Spring weather is around the corner. That means Easter, tulips, relaxing on the deck and Prima Pils. (at least to me)

This is the time of year where I think it is time to put aside the heavy porters and stouts that you sip by the fireside and break out the lighter, crisper beers like pilsners and ESB’s. My favorite pilsner is Victory’s Prima Pils, which I had reviewed on Hop-Talk last year; read it here.

prima-egg.jpgI find the crisp and lightly bitter taste of the pilsner, especially the Victory Prima Pils, to be a perfect compliment to an Easter dinner, should you be celebrating this day along with me. My family typically has a glazed ham along with some herb potatoes, steamed green beans with almonds, and rye bread. The Victory delivers a nice, light balance of bitterness with the sweet ham and it is not too strong to over power any of the other light side dishes.

I’m looking forward to a great holiday, not to mention my grandmother’s raisin bread and some Easter eggs.
