The Art of Refermentation

garrettoliver.jpgIt’s too late for me, but perhaps you can get yourself to the Grosvenor Auditorium at the National Geographic Society Headquarters in Washington, DC, to hear Garrett Oliver, brewmaster at the Brooklyn Brewery and author of The Brewmaster’s Table: Discovering the Pleasures of Real Beer with Real Food, speak about the Art of Refermentation. He is speaking tonight, Thursday, May 3, at 7 PM.

Take a guided tour into the world of beer and the art of refermentation with Garrett Oliver, the legendary brewmaster of the Brooklyn Brewery—one of America’s first microbreweries—and a leading authority on traditional beer. Refermentation was a dying art in the world of brewing, until the craft-brewing revolution brought a renewed appreciation of this traditional brewing technique. Oliver…will explain how refermentation helps maintain freshness and adds complexity to beer and will guide a tasting of some of the finest refermented beers available today.

Tickets are $65 ($60 for National Geographic members)
