The Session - Beer Blogging FridayI was going to title this post: “In search of…Milds”

Because I looked high and low, and I couldn’t find any.

Jay Brooks helpfully posted a list of American-brewed Milds, but none of my nearby (and not so nearby) retailers had any of them. No English-brewed Mild imports, either. A couple of brewpubs not too far away occasionally have Milds in their seasonal rotation, but none of them have it at present. I couldn’t find anything even close to the style.

So, I’m bummed. I’m only posting this in order to direct our loyal readers to Session Central, where you may find posts from people luckier (read: with better beer kung fu) than me (or who live in the UK) discussing this traditional, but disappearing, style.

When Hop Talk hosts the Session I am tempted to make it tasting notes on Kumis, the drink made from fermented mare’s milk popular in many parts of Central Asia and Mongolia. “Revenge is a drink best served at cellar temperature.”
