Albany Pump Station – Follow Up

Just a quick update on my article for Session #4… I had a session, myself, at the Albany Pump Station after work on Friday and I was loving their Pump Pale Ale. The hop character was somewhat different than what I’m familiar with and absolutely wonderful. I asked for something different to follow the pale with and Dawn, the bar manager, poured me the Kick-ass Brown Ale and I was loving that beer just as much. That says a lot coming from me, someone who typically does not prefer brown ales.

albany_pump_station_sm.jpgThis week, the wit beer will be coming on tap and the Belgian-style strong should be ready in about 4 weeks; the Smoked-Hefeweizen will be gone for a little while. (which I never had and wanted to try…)

Not sure what to have? See Dawn at the bar and she will hook you up.

Strange bedfellows. SABMiller and Molson Coors teaming up?

Don’t know how I missed this June 1 article from the Associated Press, but apparently the parent of Miller Brewing Company is possibly looking to partner with Molson Coors.

The parent of Miller Brewing Co. has indicated it may pursue a business relationship with Molson Coors Brewing Co. as it works to improve U.S. operations, Thomson Financial has reported.

Norman Adami, president of SABMiller PLC’s Americas division, said he sees cost efficiencies in a “potential tie-up” between the two brewing giants, the news service reported this week from London.
