Beer on National Public Radio
I don’t know if the Kojo Nnamdi Show is nationally syndicated, but it is produced and broadcast by WAMU 88.5 FM in Washington, DC. If it’s a show you can get, you’ll want to listen to it today at around 1:30 PM Eastern time. (Either way, an audio file of the show will be on their website about an hour after the show signs off.)
The reason: Beers of Summer
American beer used to be a punchline. But today, thousands of small breweries are creating innovative new brews, exploring new flavors and culinary possibilities. Kojo speaks with local and national beer afficianados about the state of American brewing, and the perfect pairing for a 4th of July cook-out.
Guests
Greg Kitsock, Editor, Mid-Atlantic Brewing News; Associate Editor, American Brewer Magazine; Beer columnist, Washington PostLucy Saunders, Author, “The Best of American Beer and Food: Pairing and Cooking with Craft Beer” (Brewers Publications)(forthcoming); Host, Beercook.com
Sam Calagione, President and Founder, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery (Milton, DE)
Hugh Sisson, General Partner, Clipper City Brewing Company
That’s quite an impressive guest list. I won’t be able to listen to it live, but I’ve got an iPod and I know how to use it.
