Smithsonian Beer Gazetteer

smithsonian_logo.gifEvery week, from July 9 to August 6, the Smithsonian Resident Associate Program offers the “Beer Gazetteer“. This program that looks at American craft brewers and is held at the famous Brickskeller in Washington, DC.

Good beer is where you find it. With more than 1,300 breweries spread across the United States, from the Seattle waterfront to the Green Mountains of Vermont, you’ll find a small brewery making first-class beers for the locals.

In the Beer Gazetteer of 2007, we continue our mission to showcase the best of the nation’s specialty breweries and brewpubs. Meet some of this country’s leading artisinal brewers and taste some of their varied and flavorful brews as they talk about the process of creating some of their best beers and how they went about staking their claim in an industry dominated by giant corporations. What better way to unwind after a hot summer day?

What better way, indeed?

At $181 for non-members, this program is really a bargain. I just wish my schedule would allow me to go.

For information and tickets, go to the Smithsonian Resident Associate Program website.
