Great Frederick Fair Homebrew Competition
Frederick County, Maryland, is still a primarily rural county, with towns scattered amongst the farmland. So the Great Frederick Fair, being held this year September 14 through 22, is still a big deal.
Once again, in addition to judging of vegetables, fruits, hay, and other agricultural products, there is a homebrew competition. Here are the details:
Entries for the Great Frederick Fair homebrew competition are due on Saturday, September 8th, not the day of judging.
The brewer should bring the beer to the entry location at the fairgrounds that day between 10 AM and 2 PM. Pre-registration via the web is encouraged, as this will save time at the check-in station. The entry fee is $6. That gets you three entries on the “entry ticket”. If you have more entries, you need to pay for another ticket.
The brewer should bring two bottles of each entry. Entries with only one bottle can still be judged, but may not be eligible for prizes.

No entries from me, but I know that several members of F.O.A.M. are entering, and have been very successful in the past. Several other members a BJCP-certified beer judges, and will be helping judge the competition.
