I haven't brewed in a while but when I did it, I really enjoyed the process. It is amazing how fundamentally the same all beers are, and how many magnificent flavors you can create with the right combinations. If we put as much emphasis on brewing as we did on cooking, imagine the new kinds of brews we'd be coming up with on a daily basis!

Heheh...well there are some things you can't get away from. Even that becomes habit though. You work out your own little system. Kinda like learning what to set your burner on when you're grilling steak. You learn what works for you given the tools you have.

I see I found a kindred spirit.

I've been brewing on and off for over 10 years and half of it was from somebody else's recipes. I've only had two batches I wouldn't drink and maybe three that were not great and scores of others that disappeared too quickly.

It's kinda like cooking. Sometimes it isn't edible, most of the time it is, but, once you get comfortable you can really perfect it.

"I am just some guy who thinks that 9 out of 10 households should brew their own beer"

What a fantastic statement. I agree wholeheartedly. 9 times out of 10 even if you stuff something up it'll still be drinkable and much nicer than 80% of beers on the supermarket shelves.

Brew on!
