Hops shortage made manifest

If I had any doubts about what would happen with the the hops shortage, I just got a very concrete example.

Yesterday, I paid $16.99 (+ tax) for a six-pack of Stone Ruination IPA.

I will certainly be savoring these.

I know how you feel. I recently purchased a 4-pack of Oskar Blue’s Ten Fidy (in the can) and it cost me over $12.00 for that 4-pack. Ouch. Ya, the price of beer is definitely starting to hit the wallet harder these days.

i was trying to buy 4 ounces of hops on friday, but was informed the shop was only selling “complete beer kits” because of the shortage… ugh.

When I said I’d be savoring these, I didn’t mean that I’d forget that they were in my refrigerator. But that’s precisely what I did.

I looked in the fridge last night and couldn’t for the life of me remember when I’d bought these. I thought my wife had got me a surprise.

Time to have one.

I’m planning on saving my Pantius Droppus… But there is no way I will forget about them.

$16.99 for a 6-pack of Ruination? What area are you in? I guess I got used to paying $6.99 for it…but I was of course in San Diego. Now I live in North Carolina and am seriously considering taking 5 acres of my land of planting rhizomes in the spring…

Northwestern Maryland. Fortunately, Flying Dog brews pretty much their entire lineup locally, so that, at least, is reasonable.
