Support Flying Dog’s Mike Freeman
(From Flying Dog‘s regular newsletter)
Mike Freeman, a member of the Flying Dog Family (in fact, our longest standing employee) has recently been diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme or GBM, a very rare and aggressive form of brain cancer – similar to what Ted Kennedy has. Seeing as we have this newsletter list and you are loyal citizens of the People’s Republic of Flying Dog, I’m am definitely not above begging for support in Mike’s fight. There are several ways you can help if you are so inclined.
- Purchase one of these nifty “Fuck Cancer” shirts at MikeSupport.com
- Make a donation to help cover Mike’s medical expenses at MikeSupport.com
- Follow Mike’s progress and give him support at CaringBridge.com
- Attend Rock the Mike: The Freeman Brainefit on August 23rd, details at MikeSupport.com

GonzoFest will not be happening on June 19, 2010 as originally planned. Here’s part of a note I received from Erin Biles, Public Relations Manager for Flying Dog: Thank you so much for your interest in Gonzofest 2010 on June 19. Unfortunately, we have decided to reschedule the party until later this year. The amount

Update: GonzoFest has been postponed. It’s that time of year: GonzoFest! I went to the 2nd Annual GonzoFest last year and it was great. It was so popular last year that they’ve split it into two separate 4-hour sessions: 11-3 and 5-9. June 19, by the way. All proceeds go to the Gonzo Foundation: The

Flying Dog Tire Bite Golden Ale

Beer-a-Day #322 The young pup of the pack… Tire Bite Golden Ale is a refreshing, light, warm weather slammer with a flavorful hop edge. Brewed using exclusive imported German hops, this beer draws craft beer drinkers back from the “dark” side of the cooler. It’s been unseasonably warm this November, so what the heck. Light

Beer-a-Day #298 By far the biggest dog in the yard… Horn Dog Barley Wine is a dark and malty English-style Barely Wine that is aged for a minimum of three months before being packaged. Like a fine wine, this beer will only get better with age when stored at optimum conditions. According to the label,
Flying Dog Raging Bitch

Beer-a-Day #256 One of the highlights of GonzoFest yesterday was the preview of Flying Dog’s upcoming 20th anniversary beer: Raging Bitch. I understand it’s made from an augmented Snake Dog wort with an exclusive Belgian yeast strain (called Diablo) and dry-hopped with a load of Amarillo hops. They’re calling it a Belgian IPA. It was

I got to attend Flying Dog Brewery’s second annual GonzoFest just up the road at their Frederick, Maryland facility. It was a great time. Lots of good beer, good food, and good music. And more good beer. I am looking forward to next year’s event. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so
