This concludes Samuel Smith week.
Deep, dark brown, with a thick head the color of coffee ice cream. Nice lacing on the glass, too. Nice roasty aroma. Seems to be some licorice in there, too. Tasty too. At 7% ABV it’s not as big as a lot of Imperial Stouts I’ve had lately.
A few years back, a very good friend of mine who’s now passed away, shared a bottle of this SS stout with me, and it was amazing, but I’ve never been able to find it in my area.
Check with your retailer; they might be able to order some for you. Especially if you offer to take an entire case.
