I have taken a few timid steps toward cellaring some of my beer. Last January I had some Brooklyn Monster Ale and very specifically put aside a bottle to have…oh, about now. It’s been an awful temptation to see it back for just about all of 2009. This is a bottle from 2008. Very pretty

Beer-a-Day #361 Based on the satisfying malty ales of blustery Scotland, Brooklyn Winter Ale will have you looking on the bright side of things. Rich Scottish malts bring deep bready flavors to a beer with a full copper color, a round, smooth palate, and brisk hopping that pulls the sweet malts into balance. See –

Beer-a-Day #339 Perfectly balanced, this authentic version of a German helles-style lager satisfies gloriously. Lean, German malts and fine European hops offer subtle harmony. Pale straw; white head. Odor is light with a bit of grain. Taste is light with some floral essence. A good session beer. Victory Lager submit_url = ‘http://hop-talk.com/2009/12/05/victory-lager/’; Related Posts:Victory St.

Beer-a-Day #330 Our classic German lager has a perfect balance of caramel malt sweetness. Look for a rich, amber color and medium body. Pale amber with an off-white head; small bubbles. Slight earthy and peppery aroma. A little toastiness in the taste.
