Beer-a-Day #179
Is it just me, or is everyone and his brother rolling out wheat beers? Well, this one bills itself as “the original Belgian White beer” and it’s darn hot outside. I am in need of something refreshing.
Very pale and hazy. Lots of spice in the aroma: coriander, orange peel, something floral. Flavor is citrusy and “soft”. Very refreshing.

Beer-a-Day #230 I am reminded of ginger ale, both by the color and the amount of carbonation. Head dissipates quickly. In the aroma I get a lot of fruit: apples and grapes, mostly, and some woodiness. Taste has a bit of bubblegum and graininess, with a sharp bite from the carbonation. Interesting. One of my wife’s favorites… and you’ve only have had this multiple times as I’ve brought it to several of our previous Oktoberfest get togethers. And yes, I too found it rather refreashing durring the summers sitting in the Grand Plaz in Brussels… my goal remains to get you and Ron (and the other member of our unoffical beer review board) to sit at the King of Spain there and enjoy a few.
