A small sampling of beer-related news that recently caught our eye. Anheuser-Busch InBev shipping water to Haiti ABIB is shipping 600,000 cans of water to aid in Haiti. They’ll also be matching donations to the American Red Cross and have shipped over 5 millions cans of drinking water to victims of natural disasters in the

Beer-a-Day #230 I am reminded of ginger ale, both by the color and the amount of carbonation. Head dissipates quickly. In the aroma I get a lot of fruit: apples and grapes, mostly, and some woodiness. Taste has a bit of bubblegum and graininess, with a sharp bite from the carbonation. Interesting. Beer-a-Day #195 A swirling dynamo of flavor, with a steady calm of satisfaction at its heart, that’s Whirlwind Witbier. Beer-a-Day #151 Another European light lager in a green bottle. Yippee. This is one of the most popular beers in the world and is one of flagships of InBev. Very pale yellow with a white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Seems like it’s only slightly lightstruck; I’m not getting much aroma. Flavor is very light

One of my wife’s favorites… and you’ve only have had this multiple times as I’ve brought it to several of our previous Oktoberfest get togethers. And yes, I too found it rather refreashing durring the summers sitting in the Grand Plaz in Brussels… my goal remains to get you and Ron (and the other member of our unoffical beer review board) to sit at the King of Spain there and enjoy a few.

We were supposed to do that for our fortieth birthdays, weren’t we? Too bad the bottom dropped out of the economy.
Well, let’s shoot to do it before we’re fifty.
