Beer-a-Day #195
A swirling dynamo of flavor, with a steady calm of satisfaction at its heart, that’s Whirlwind Witbier. Offering a tamed tempest of flavors both spicy and sublime, this softly fermented ale greets the nose and tingles the tongue. Imported Belgian yeast charges Whirlwind with an energy all its own. It is a refreshing interpretation of the classic, Belgian ‘white beer’ style.
Cloudy lemonade. Banana and clove and a bit of lemon. Light and subtle, yet refreshing. I’d have that again.
I picked this up a month ago…it was ok, but i thought it lacked flavor. But, on a hot day after mowing the grass, I can see it hitting the spot.

I like this style of beer and Whirlwind been recommended to me as one I should try. Still, I read many ho-hum comments about it too, so I’m not in a rush to try it either.

I found it interesting that after this beer ages a bit (mine was brewed in April and I had it on July 4th) it ceases to be a Belgian white anymore and becomes a Belgian ale. It evolved at some point.
