Flying Dog Doggie Style Classic Pale Ale
Beer-a-Day #197
Meet the Alpha of the pack … Flying Dog Classic Pale Ale is brilliant amber in color and dry hopped with buckets full of Cascades for an unrivaled hop flavor and aroma. This is a true representation of an American-style pale ale, using the finest ingredients. Flying Dog Classic Pale Ale is a multi-award winning product and is consistently ranked as one of the best pale ales in the U.S. This is what craft beer is all about.
I would have written this up long ago, but my wife likes it so much I can’t keep it in the house long enough.
Copper colored and clear. Very pretty. Hops, hops, and hops in the aroma. Nicely balanced with just a little extra kick of bitterness.
Now to hide a few bottles…

GonzoFest will not be happening on June 19, 2010 as originally planned. Here’s part of a note I received from Erin Biles, Public Relations Manager for Flying Dog: Thank you so much for your interest in Gonzofest 2010 on June 19. Unfortunately, we have decided to reschedule the party until later this year. The amount

Update: GonzoFest has been postponed. It’s that time of year: GonzoFest! I went to the 2nd Annual GonzoFest last year and it was great. It was so popular last year that they’ve split it into two separate 4-hour sessions: 11-3 and 5-9. June 19, by the way. All proceeds go to the Gonzo Foundation: The

Beer-a-Day #342 Our interpretation of a classic English beer style is copper-colored, medium-bodied and highly hopped. Its flavor is delightfully complex: tangy fruit at the start, with an assertive hop crispness and a long malty palate that one well-known beer writer has compared to the flavor of freshly-baked bread. Brown with some golden highlights and
Flying Dog Gonzo Imperial Porter

Beer-a-Day #335 Like Hunter S. Thompson… Gonzo Imperial Porter is deep and complex. This turbo charged version of the Road Dog Porter is mysteriously dark with a rich and malty body, intense roasted flavors, and a surprisingly unique hop kick. With Gonzo weighing in at 7.8% ABV, it will bite you in the ass if

Beer-a-Day #334 A Tröegs Brewery classic, our Pale Ale is copper colored with generous amounts of Cascade hops to create a floral, aromatic pale ale that smells as delicious as it tastes. Tröegs Pale Ale pairs nicely with Mediterranean foods, starches and anything with fresh herbs. The floral hop character also blends with cheesy dishes

Beer-a-Day #323 This dog enjoys his days in the sun… Old Scratch Amber Lager is a malty, mellow beer that is fermented at medium temperatures to develop both ale and lager characteristics. “Gold Scratch” raises the standard in the amber lager category. Pretty copper color, clear, with a good sized off-white head. Rich and malty
Flying Dog Tire Bite Golden Ale

Beer-a-Day #322 The young pup of the pack… Tire Bite Golden Ale is a refreshing, light, warm weather slammer with a flavorful hop edge. Brewed using exclusive imported German hops, this beer draws craft beer drinkers back from the “dark” side of the cooler. It’s been unseasonably warm this November, so what the heck. Light
Barons Pale Ale

Beer-a-Day #321 This thirst quenching Barons Pale Ale uses the finest Australasian ingredients including Pacific Hallertau and Nelson Sauvin Hops. Best enjoyed icy cold. Pale with a yellowish-orange caste. I get a bit of lemon and caramel in the aroma. Medium body with just enough hops in the finish. I’m glad this made the trip
