Beer-a-Day #334
A Tröegs Brewery classic, our Pale Ale is copper colored with generous amounts of Cascade hops to create a floral, aromatic pale ale that smells as delicious as it tastes.
Tröegs Pale Ale pairs nicely with Mediterranean foods, starches and anything with fresh herbs. The floral hop character also blends with cheesy dishes like [...]
Beer-a-Day #328
Designed as our session beer, Rugged Trail Nut Brown Ale is bronze in color with a velvety smooth taste and subtle chocolate note. Rugged Trail’s lower alcohol content and subtle hoppiness make it the perfect beer to enjoy during the day and into the night.

Beer-a-Day #325
In the 14th Century, Sailors would rely on sheer skill to get from a starting point to a final destination. They called this Dead Reckoning. We see our beer the same way. We know where to begin and know where to go, but there are hundreds of ways to get there.
Dead Reckoning is [...]
I didn’t get to taste this brew at Octoberfest and I am just getting around to giving it a try. Everyone agreed that there wasn’t something quite right about it. Al described it as astringent.
It pours a nice deep dark burnt umber with a fluffy head of tan foam. But, something is not right about [...]
Beer-a-Day #280
Ron loves this stout. Why wouldn’t he? It’s big and bold and full of hop goodness.
With a huge, Pacific Northwest hop aroma & character upfront, Storm King subsides into massive, roast malt complexity. More flavor than mere words can adequately describe. Rich and substantial, it will warm your heart.
Dark as midnight on a moonless [...]
Beer-a-Day #220
To mark the 250 year anniversary of the signing of the lease on St. James’s Gate Brewery by Arthur Guinness, we introduce a special commemorative stout. This premium recipe provides a refreshing taste, which underlies the complex flavor of stout.
I guess I’m a little behind the times on this. Better late than never I [...]
Beer-a-Day #147
The Starr Hill web site proclaims this to be the most decorated dry irish stout in the country.
Dark, dark brown with a tan head. Lots of chocolate and roastiness in the aroma. Roast coffee flavors. It’s very good.

Beer-a-Day #115
“Widget Week” continues.
Dark brown with a creamy beige head. Tiny bubbles, of course. Smells a bit like french roast coffee. More coffee roastiness in the flavor and a light body.

Mahogany with a thin, medium-brown head. I would describe the aroma as “warm”, with plenty of chocolaty undertones. Dry, roasty finish.
