Beer-a-Day #355 After yesterday’s selection, I don’t hold out much hope. Pale blonde and fizzy. Slightly vegetable smell. Not much flavor. Give it a pass. Beer-a-Day #320 A world class traditional pilsner, Warsteiner Premium Verum is a slightly pale German-style pilsner with a clean, crisp, refreshing import taste. Warsteiner is brewed with fresh Arnsberger Forest spring water sourced at the brewery in Warstein, Germany, naturally soft water that helps to create the smooth taste and thick creamy head. Beer-a-Day #296 This is, perhaps, the quintessential Märzen. Not quite as orange as Americanized versions of the style, clear, with a nice off-white head. Mild aroma with some roastiness. Malty, of course, with caramel and a hint of the hops. Good stuff. Now I’m craving bratwurst and sauerkraut. Beer-a-Day #231 Yellowish-orange with a prodigious white head which dissipates fairly quickly. Aroma is light, with a little pineapple and “wheatiness”. Flavor is a little…well, not bland exactly. “Understated” seems like a good word. Beer-a-Day #228 Made from the original 1873 recipe, our signature brew has a full-bodied taste, hoppy bouquet, golden color and rich full head. Your tasting notes might say something like “a slightly fruity but crisp firmness – ends with a clean dry finish,” but most people simply say, “Now that’s a Beck’s.” I am a

Beer-a-Day #140 Clear pale yellow with a white head. A little lemon zest in the aroma. Taste is just a bit of fruit and biscuits. Beer-a-Day #138 Wheat beers aren’t my favorite, but who am I to say “no”? Cloudy yellow with a white head. It’s got that big, fruity aroma one finds in wheat beers, with a touch of ginger. Smooth, but with a little bite. Man, I’m craving bratwurst now. König Ludwig Schloßbrauerei Kaltenberg Weissbier (German) submit_url =

Beer-a-Day #126 Pale orange with white head. Slightly floral aroma. Clean, slightly astringent. It’s good. Beer-a-Day #125 Sticking with the European imports. Golden and cloudy. (It’s unfiltered; duh!) A couple fingers of white head. Very aromatic, with a good bit of bubblegum and banana. “Crisp” is a word that comes to mind. Clean and refreshing. I don’t fall head-over-froth for wheat beers, but this is pretty good. Beer-a-Day #122 Alas, I’m out of green bottles from Europe. This seems like a good one to end on, though. A nice deep brown with some red highlights. Thick beige head. Deep, malty aroma. Bready, with raisins and a bit of coffee. Yum. Spaten submit_url = ‘http://hop-talk.com/2009/05/02/spaten-optimator/’; Related Posts:Spaten Premium LagerBeer-a-Day Project: May recapBrooklyn Brown
