It doesn’t get much fresher than this… I grabbed some of the first Saranac Octoberfest beer from the brewery today. She even had to fetch them from the back. I think I need to get one in an ice water bath so I can have it tonight. Also note the cool ADK pint glass. My

Beer-a-Day #332 Brewed with a special blend of domestic and Belgian malts for a delicate nut-like character, you’ll love this Lager’s rich taste and signature hop aroma. The exceptional full-bodied taste reflects our Brewery’s extraordinary commitment to brewing beers of the highest standard of quality. Medium-dark brown and clear. Rich aroma with a good bit

Beer-a-Day #330 Our classic German lager has a perfect balance of caramel malt sweetness. Look for a rich, amber color and medium body. Pale amber with an off-white head; small bubbles. Slight earthy and peppery aroma. A little toastiness in the taste. Beer-a-Day #270 Saranac Pumpkin Ale is brewed with Pumpkin, Cinnamon, Allspice, Cloves, Ginger and Vanilla. Look for a full-body and amber color. Golden brown and clear. The cinnamon and cloves dominate the aroma. Medium body and not overly sweet. Complex yet substantive. I like it. Beer-a-Day #265 Woo-hoo! Only 100 beers left to go! Saranac Octoberfest is a med-bodied, copper colored lager. It’s rich, malty taste is subtly balanced by Saaz and Tettnang hops. The beer is aged slowly in the tradition of the Octoberfest beers of Munich. Golden color with a little red. Nice malty aroma. Medium body with

Beer-a-Day #188 A hop lover’s delight. In the India Pale Ale tradition this brew is very hoppy in both aroma and flavor from the generous amounts of cascade hops used in brewing. Look for a medium to full body and golden straw color. Beer Style: American I.P.A. Malt Selections: North American two-row Hop Selections: Cascade

Beer-a-Day #153 In Bavaria, where beer is an art form to some and a religion to the rest, Hacker-Pschorr Munich Gold is recognized as the benchmark of the lager style. The Hacker-Pschorr Brewery is known as Bavaria’s Heaven – “Himmel der Bayern.” Hacker-Pschorr’s Munich Gold represents the real thing from one of the oldest breweries

Beer-a-Day #138 Wheat beers aren’t my favorite, but who am I to say “no”? Cloudy yellow with a white head. It’s got that big, fruity aroma one finds in wheat beers, with a touch of ginger. Smooth, but with a little bite. Man, I’m craving bratwurst now. König Ludwig Schloßbrauerei Kaltenberg Weissbier (German) submit_url =

Beer-a-Day #125 Sticking with the European imports. Golden and cloudy. (It’s unfiltered; duh!) A couple fingers of white head. Very aromatic, with a good bit of bubblegum and banana. “Crisp” is a word that comes to mind. Clean and refreshing. I don’t fall head-over-froth for wheat beers, but this is pretty good. Beer-a-Day #91 Today is my fourteenth wedding anniversary. While I don’t think of myself as Hades nor my wife as Persephone, it seems appropriate to have something a bit out of the mainstream today. It looks like hazy cream soda. Fruity aroma. The fruit is not overpowering, but I don’t know if it really improves
