Mendocino Bock Beer

Mendocino Bock Beer labelBeer-a-Day #99

This is Mendocino’s Spring Seasonal offering, which they introduced last year. This particular bottle was brewed in Saratoga Springs, New York.

Beautiful clear golden color. Head dissipates quickly. Aroma is so light it’s nearly undetectable. Big, malty, lip-smacking goodness.

Flying Dog Garde Dog

Flying Dog Garde DogBeer-a-Day #67

Garde Dog is a Bière de Garde and is Flying Dog‘s spring seasonal.

Pale yellow with a white that quickly dissipates. It reminds me of ginger ale, actually. Fruit spiciness in the aroma. Very light on the tongue. Refreshing.

Hard to believe, actually, that the same guys who gave us Gonzo Imperial Porter also offer this light, refreshing, French style. I hesitate to call this a “lawnmower beer”, but this is something I’ll definitely be enjoying now that Spring is here. At least until it sells out, of course.
