Hacker-Pschorr Weisse

Hacker-Pschorr WeisseBeer-a-Day #125

Sticking with the European imports.

Golden and cloudy. (It’s unfiltered; duh!) A couple fingers of white head. Very aromatic, with a good bit of bubblegum and banana. “Crisp” is a word that comes to mind. Clean and refreshing. I don’t fall head-over-froth for wheat beers, but this is pretty good.

Allagash White

Allagash WhiteBeer-a-Day #77

After nearly a week of cold, damp, grey skies there is finally a feeling of spring in the air and blue skies above. Sounds like a great time to break out Belgian-inspired wheat beer.

Pale yellow with plenty of haze. (There’s yeast in it after all.) Very spicy. Bananas, coriander, clove. Maybe a little vanilla. Light on the tongue with a malty finish.

Legacy Brewing Midnight Wit

Legacy Midnight WitBeer-a-Day #50

Legacy Brewing Company is based out of Reading, Pennsylvania, but this was contract brewed in Harrisburg.

I’ve never heard of them. But, they’re pretty local and I’m all about finding new beers to try. This is the first of several of theirs I purchased recently.

I’m not a huge fan of wheat beers, but we’ll see.

Pale yellow with a bit of expected haze. A bunch of clove and some vanilla in the aroma. I taste a bit of lemon and raspberries. Light finish.
